Uchiwa fans are handcrafted from bamboo and Japanese paper coated with persimmon tannin for strength and durability. Over time, the tannin will¬†deepen to a beautiful rich hue. Uchiwas (fans) are considered by some to be a lucky charm and are often used as gifts. Though traditionally used to fan charcoal or cool steamed rice, this fan can be¬†used to cool off on a hot day.=Made by Kurikawa Shoten= Kurikawa Shoten was founded in 1889 and is= located in Yamashika, Kumamoto.They are the only workshop that still uses a traditional technique of paper fan making that has been practiced since the 1600s.

A shipping confirmation with tracking will be sent when your order has been shipped. Domestic orders will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. International orders are shipped via DHL, USPS Priority Mail, or USPS First Class International. Please note that the typical ship time for DHL is 2—5 days, while USPS First Class International can take up to three weeks in transit. We highly recommend purchasing Route shipping insurance with your order when choosing the USPS First Class International ship option. Regardless of whether or not you have chosen to purchase shipping insurance, we are not responsible for items lost, damaged or stolen in the mail.
If you have placed an order shipping to a destination outside the US, tax, customs and import duties will be levied by the client's local government on top of our shipping cost. All additional taxes and fees are the responsibility of the customer. This can range from 20% to 40% of the order value.
