Taper beeswax candles produce a bright yet warm light. Beeswax candles burn brighter, cleaner, and longer than any other candle, and are also dripless and smokeless. The thin beeswax tapers are handmade by the monks of the Monastery of St. John using wax that is gleaned from the monastery's bee farm. The monks collect the honeycomb and then form it into large bricks ready for candlemaking.
"From the early days at St. Eugene's Hermitage in Pt. Reyes until today, the main source of our income has been candle production. Like everything we offer to God, our candles are made with nothing artificial." – Monastery of St. John
